Patient Care Coordinator and Dental Assistant
I love educating people about dental health and how what happens in the mouth affects their body and vice versa. It’s a great feeling when our patients improve their oral and overall wellness and achieve healthier, more beautiful smiles! We have an amazing doctor and team. I love the compassion for patients and how they feel like family.
I welcome and check in patients, update records, and schedule procedures, visits, and hygiene treatments. I also work with our new patients to confirm their insurance benefits and gather prior dental records. In addition, I provide chairside assistance to Dr. King and my coworkers when needed.
My husband and I have lived in Maple Valley for 20 years. We enjoy time with family and friends at our vacation property at the lake, and I love being with my two beautiful grandchildren!
I love talking and laughing with our patients, and getting to hear their stories and share some of my own. We have a wonderful environment and patients respond by relaxing: telling us they feel safe and at home in our care! I love working with Dr. King and my coworkers because they are all very caring, work hard, and want the best for our patients.
As a dental assistant, I seat patients, make sure they’re comfortable, and prepare them for their procedure. I take photos, X-rays, and impressions, as well as maintain records, and handle lab work. I also provide chairside assistance, to help Dr. King while supporting our patient, and offer a lot of education and encouragement.
I’m married and have two children. The youngest is about to graduate from high school and the older is in her early 20s. We have two dogs and a cat. I enjoy time with family and friends, hiking, camping, traveling, and gardening, and working out at the gym.
I also volunteer at RTC with the dental assisting program. I love working with students on their skills and teaching them what I’ve learned working in the field. It’s important for future assistants to have technical skills, knowledge, and compassion for their patients.
I love meeting new people, building connections, and supporting patients as they improve their lives. Hygiene treatment is often the first step a patient takes to improv dental health. It yields dramatically visible results and improves oral and overall well-being! Dr. King and the rest of the staff here take pride in providing top-notch care to every person who comes through the door. It’s truly service with a smile for us!
I perform comfortable, thorough cleanings for my patients, as well as acquire diagnostic records for Dr. King to review, diagnose, and use in treatment planning. I’m also a resource for patient education: explaining treatment processes and options, answering questions, and helping people make healthy decisions.
My wife and I live in Redmond with our dog, George, who’s an English Springer/Brittany mix. We’re in perfect walking distance of Marymoor Dog Park, which is one of George’s favorite places on earth. Along with my wife and George, I also love food, music, friends and family, and a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest.
I love working closely with patients, to find ways they can receive the dental care they want and need, and make the process worry-free. We have an incredible practice: Dr. King is an amazing clinician who delivers fabulous dentistry and my coworkers provide excellent care. We’re all devoted to our patients and their health!
I oversee much of the business side of patient care and am always happy to answer questions about treatment, costs, benefits, and financials. My primary happiness is found in welcoming patients, making sure they’re comfortable, and ensuring we exceed their expectations with every interaction.
My free time is spent with my husband Michael and our Havanese, Callie, who’s the true ruler of our household! I have two grown children, Shaylene and Tyler, as well, and enjoy being with them. Michael and I love road trips and like taking easy hikes in the area.
I love empowering patients: motivating and educating them as they take control of their oral and overall health! Seeing someone at a recall visit, and observing the improvement in their oral cavity and general wellness, makes my day. I am so happy to work with Dr. King and our team: We are united in our desire to help people achieve healthy smiles!
I work in the clinic, where I remove bacteria and buildup from the teeth, above and below the gumline. I also assess patients’ oral health, explain about periodontal disease, and offer a lot of education. Together, we strategize ways my patients can improve their home dental hygiene and develop healthier habits.
I enjoy my time off, especially when I’m with my spouse of 25 years and our adult daughter.
